The Project in Detail

The Swiss family-owned company Gebr. Renggli AG is one of the leading providers of thermoplastic plastic products in the field of medical technology. To decouple medical-technology plastics production from the manufacturing of industrial components, IE Plast was commissioned with the planning and execution of a production building with an integrated cleanroom. Thanks to stringent project management and our industry-specific expertise, a modern industrial construction project was realized at the Schaffhausen site – one that fully meets the exceptionally high hygiene requirements in plastics processing.

The Challenge

Adhering to the highest hygiene requirements for production under cleanroom conditions plays an increasingly important role in plastics processing. When planning industrial buildings with an integrated cleanroom, all measures must also consider ongoing operations. A key challenge was addressing the complex interfaces between architecture, structural engineering and the individual building services disciplines. Always in line with the principle: Design to Budget. To ensure all expansion stages, a master plan had to be developed. In addition, continuous coordination with the competent authorities was essential to secure approval for the production hall.

Key Success factors

IE Plast benefits from the extensive experience of its experts in medical technology—particularly in planning, execution and qualification of cleanrooms. However, the close involvement of Gebr. Renggli AG employees throughout the planning phase was decisive for the project’s success.Across a series of workshops, various operational concepts were developed, verified, optimized and evaluated using benefit analyses in an iterative process. This structured approach enabled all stakeholders to contribute to the final solution.
