«My father, Ernst Schweizer, and his Sales Manager, Ernst Alder, were co‑founders of IE in 1966, and I myself was later involved in several projects, e.g. in the interdisciplinary “Creating Jobs” workshops. The principle that high‑quality industrial construction requires more than a well‑designed building in order to deliver real efficiency gains for clients – and must therefore be planned ‘from the inside out’ – was already firmly established at IE back then. I experienced this myself during the delivery of the metal‑glass façade for the COOP bakery in Schafisheim. We were able to contribute to a facility where the investments in production equipment were just as significant as those in the building itself. It became clear how much coordination this requires between inside and outside. It was an impressive experience – and one at a remarkably high pace.»

MCAM Symalit AG, based in Lenzburg, is Switzerland’s market-leading provider of plastic cable protection conduit solutions. To reduce exposure to price fluctuations in plastic granules, MCAM Symalit significantly expanded its storage capacities. IE Plast delivered a future-ready raw-material conveying system as the design-build contractor, including energy optimisation through a centralised vacuum system – all while operations continued uninterrupted.
